FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: device for sorting rod-shaped elements (3₁, 3₂, …, 3_n), in particular representing the cigarette production waste, where all elements have a different fixed length (b₁, b₂, …, b_n) comprising the sorting conveyor (1) located obliquely at an angle (α) to the horizontal, said conveyor (1) comprising a longitudinal sieving component (7), above which at least one bar (2) of the pusher is located, with the possibility to move along the sieving component (7). Said at least one bar (2) of the pusher is positioned transverse the conveyor movement direction and is intended for the displacement of said elements (3₁, 3₂, …, 3_n) upwards along the sieving component (7), said displaceable elements (3₁, 3₂, …, 3_n) are arranged substantially along the bars (2) of the pusher, wherein the sieving component (7) comprises at least one screening part (7₁, 7₂, …, 7_m) in the form of a through opening in the conveyor, wherein said opening is divided by the sloping rakes (11₁, 11₂, …, 11_m) into at least two adjacent through subsections (12₁, 12₂, …, 12_m). The width (a₁, a₂, …, a_m) of said subsections in the corresponding sections, measured in the direction parallel to the bars (2) of the pusher, is the same. The rakes (11₁, 11₂, …, 11_m) of each section are substantially located at the same acute angle (β₁, β₂, …, β_m) to the bars (2) of the pusher; said width (a₁, a₂, …, a_m) is different in each section, said width (a₁, a₂, …, a_m) and length (c₁, c₂, …, c_m) of each section (7₁, 7₂, …, 7_m) are chosen specifically for one selected length (b_n) of the rod-like elements so that only the rod-shaped elements having a length that is less than or equal to the chosen length (b_n) pass through the subsections (12₁, 12₂, …, 12_m) of this section, being oriented along the bars (2) of the pusher.
