FIELD: medicine, pharmacy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biochemistry. The described antibodies that are specifically bound to an epitope on CD43 and CEA, expressed on nonhematopoietic malignant cells but not specifically bound to CD43, expressed leukocyte or Jurkat cell, and capable of inducing apoptosis of a nonhematopoietic cancer cell after binding to an epitope on the surface of a nonhematopoietic malignant cells withount cytotoxic conjugation and immune effector function, wherein the epitope comprises a carbohydrate structure, and binding of the antibody to the epitope is inhibited by a carbohydrate comprising a Lea structure, Lea-lactose structurea, LNDFH II structure or LNT structure. Furthermore, this invention relates to application of the antibodies described in this publication, in order to achieve diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
EFFECT: invention increases the diversity of antibodies that bind to CD43 and CEA.
