SUBSTANCE: disclosed calibration method is carried out using an opaque rod of circular cross section, which is moved through the optical channel at a right angle to the direction of the luminous flux, maintaining rod axis orthogonality relative to the optical channel plane throughout the entire rod route, wherein correction value for each of the selected sections is calculated using the formula: , where ki is correction factor value for the i section of the optical channel, Dc is rod diameter, is measurement average of the rod diameter obtained during its movement in the i section.
EFFECT: elimination of errors in determining the size of precipitation particles caused by nonuniformity of the luminous flux in the optical channel.
