FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control and measurement equipment and can be used for calibration of optical meter of linear dimensions. According to the disclosed method, calibration is carried out using an opaque rod of round cross section, which is horizontally moved through the optical channel perpendicular to the direction of the light flux while maintaining orthogonality of the axis of the rod relative to the plane of the optical channel on the entire path of the rod, wherein effective size Ief of each light-sensitive element is determined using the expression:

where d is the diameter of the rod [mm], kij is value from array of calibration data, i is the index corresponding to the number of the light-sensitive element, j is the index corresponding to the measurement number.
EFFECT: reduction of measurement error caused by non-uniformity of the light flux, and elimination of the dependence of the value of this error on the dimensions of the reference object.
