FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises a removable piston made of aluminium alloy or cast iron, with the outer cylindrical surface of valuation. Along the surface of the piston with a radial gap, depending on the coefficient of linear expansion of the piston material performs reciprocating sliding ring. On the sliding ring, a rectangular annular recess is made, allowing the lowest dead center to capture the minimum sufficient volume of oil necessary to evenly coat the entire evaluation surface of the piston with the oil being tested.

EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of the assessment.
