FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: surgical treatment of disseminated purulent peritonitis at the late stage involves median laparotomy. The peritonitis source is eliminated. The abdominal cavity is sanitized and drained. Two non-perforated polypropylene tube, 10-12 mm in diameter, are laid along the edges of the laparotomic wound. The tubes are withdrawn through the wound corners and fixed by sutures. Skin sutures are imposed on the wound at each 2.5-3 cm. The tubes are left for 2-3 weeks.
EFFECT: method reduces postoperative complications, restores intestinal motility due to reduced risk of intestinal wall microcirculatory disorders, abdominal cavity drainage.
