FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: according to the proposed method of 4-nitrobenzoyl chloride was prepared by phosgenating the 4-nitrobenzoic acid in a chlorobenzene in the presence of catalytic amounts of dimethylformamide at a temperature of 60÷80°C followed by distilling off the residual phosgene from the phosgenation of dissolved product. The method is characterized in that as agent phosgenated using triphosgene in a molar ratio to the starting 4-nitrobenzoic acid 0.35÷0.4:1, the process is conducted in vacuum in the range of (-)0.04÷(+)0.06 MPa and triphosgene are introduced gradually at a temperature of the reaction mass 40÷80°C, followed by heating the reaction mass to a temperature phosgenation.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the safety of the process and simplify it.
