FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: snow cover depth sensor consists of a rigid plastic housing (1) with a lid (2) in its upper part and a sharp lower tip (11). An antenna (3) is fixed in the upper part of the housing (1). A GPS-receiver (4), a compass (5), a gyroscope (6), a chain of temperature sensors (7), a radio modem (8), a controller (9), an autonomous power supply unit (10) are placed inside the housing (1). Outputs of GPS-receiver (4), compass (5), gyroscope (6) and temperature sensors (7) are connected to the controller (9).

EFFECT: providing independent operation, increased structural strength.
