FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for determination of aspect and may be used to determine aspect of an avalanche site. Substance: with the help of a laser range finder placed in a valley, they determine the distance (L1) to the reference point A at the slope, azimuth and probing angle (β). Then, having displaced a probing beam to a certain distance AB along the horizontal line to the left or right from the reference point A, they determine the distance (L2) to an arbitrary auxiliary point B on the slope and an azimuth of probing of this point. Then from the projection to the horizontal plane for the values L1, L2 and AB, forming a triangle, they determine the azimuth of the horizontal line stretching via the reference A and auxiliary B points on the slope. After that they calculate the aspect.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of remote measurement of aspect in avalanche sites, reduced labour inputs.
