SUBSTANCE: method consists in the study of clinical, morphological and immunohistochemical indicators of the gastric mucosa in the presence of herpes simplex, cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus antigens. The number of gastric mucosa microvessels and their endothelium, uneven microvessels wall thickness, presence of connective tissue proliferation in their wall, nuclei, nucleocytoplasmic index changes, and perivascular edema presence are estimated. Upon detection of a viral monoinfection with endothelial changes of to 40% of microvessels in the form of non-uniform increase in walls thickness, as well as endothelial nuclei hyperchromatose, no complications are diagnosed. Upon detection of at least two viral infections with the increased number of microvessels from 30% to 50% and endothelial changes of 45% -60% of microvessels, moderate severity is diagnosed. In the presence of viral and bacterial infections with the increased number of microvessels of more than 50% and total endothelial changes of more than 60% of microvessels, severe course of chronic gastritis is is diagnosed.

EFFECT: use of the method allows accurate estimation of chronic gastritis severity for children.
