SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for prepairing , at least, one salt selected from the group consisting of formate, acetate, propionate, oxalate, lactate, butyrate, valerate, citrate, adipate, succinate, malate, and carbonate and mixtures thereof, by reacting glycerol, in which glycerine is reacted at the temperatures above 150° C in the aqueous liquid solution of Me hydroxide , where the hydroxide concentration Me is higher the concentration in the saturated solution at the room temperature, wherein Me is selected from the group consisting of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals and mixtures thereof, and the said reaction results in the prepairinf of, at least, one salt selected from the group consisting of formate, acetate, propionate, oxalate, lactate, butyrate, valerate, citrate, adipate, succinate, malate, and carbonate and mixtures thereof, and hydrogen gas (H2) or methane (CH2) and mixtures thereof. The method allows to turn glycerol, especially the glycerol obtained in the production of biodiesel, into a commercially valuable product.
EFFECT: selectively obtaining finished products with high purity.
