EXHAUST NOISE SUPPRESSOR IN COMBUSTION ENGINES Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC F01N1/12 F01N13/00

Abstract RU 2617527 C1

FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: an exhaust noise suppressor of a combustion engine contains a casing (1) with tangential inlet pipe connections (2) and an outlet pipe connection, at least two shells (4), (5) coaxially installed in the casing (1). The two shells (4), (5) and the casing (1) in the axis-to-casing (1) direction form (1) inlet, intermediate and outlet chambers (6), (7) and (8), the cavities of which are serially interconnected through holes (9), (10) in the shells (4), (5). The cavity of the tangential inlet pipe connection (2) is coupled with the cavity of the inlet chamber (6). The cavity of the outlet chamber (8) is linked with the cavity of the outlet pipe connection. The casing (1) is made as a snail, the outlet (11) of which is rigidly fixed to the installed tangential outlet pipe connection. The shells (4), (5) are formed by tangential guide blades (12), (13), between which there are openings (9), (10) with a smaller passage section at the gas inlet which are designed as wedge gaps. The blades (12), (13) of the shells (4), (5) are tilted oppositely. In the first shell (4) the blades (12) are tilted in the rotation direction of inlet gas coming from the tangential inlet pipe connection (2). The casing (1) has an angled side wall (14) which is rigidly attached to cover (15) on the top, wherein the cover is designed as a hollow conic frustum the greater section of which develops into the snail spiral and is expanded and detachably connected with the bottom (17) with the help of fasteners and a central tubular axis (20). The central tubular axis (20) is mounted in the central holes of the bottom (17) and cover (15). There are tangential inlet pipe connections (2) mounted in the side holes of the cover (15). Each shell (4) and (5) is made detachable in the shape of a hollow conic frustum, the greater section of which is at the bottom. The shells (4), (5) are made with lengths which get bigger as they move away from the axis of the casing (1), and their smaller sections are tightly inside each other. The lower end of the shell (5) which is the last to the axis is installed in the corner formed by the angled side wall (14) of the casing and the bottom (17). There are grooves (21) along the perimeter of the bottom (17). The bottom (17) and an additional dismountable slag bath (22) form a separation chamber (23). The central tubular shaft (20) has side holes (24) at the top and at the bottom for the connecting its cavity with the cavities of the inlet and separation chambers (6) and (23), respectively. There is a cap (27) on one face end of the tubular shaft (20). There is a sparkling plug (28) in the side hole of the cover (15). The outlet pipe connection is designed with the passage cross-section expanding to the outlet. The inlet pipe connections (2) and the cover (15) are covered with heat-noise insulation (32). The suppressor is installed on the head (38) of cylinders or through flanges (29) in the ends of the inlet pipe connections (2), or the inlet pipe connections (2), cover (15), casing (1) and the cylinder head are made as a whole.

EFFECT: increased vacuum level.
