FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar ranging with object detection based on use of "transmission" effect and can be used for low-altitude aerial objects (missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc.) detection and coordinates measurement, including ones made using “stealth” technology. Said result is also achieved due to fact, that radar station is mounted on aircraft, receiving and transmitting antennas are oriented vertically downwards, receiving part is made N-channel (N>2), each channel additionally contains series-connected reflected signal level measuring unit, control device and series-connected transmitter signal level changing unit, transmitter signal phase variation unit and adder, which output is connected to receiver input, and receiver output is with integrated inputs of signal level measurement unit and Doppler frequency meter, control device first output is connected to signal level variation unit second input, control device second output is connected to signal phase variation unit second input, all channels signal level changing units first inputs are combined and connected to transmitting antenna input, bearing measuring device has N inputs, each of which is connected to output of corresponding Doppler frequency meter, receiving antenna has N outputs, each of which is connected to input of corresponding channel adder.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in reliability of detecting low-visible low-altitude aerial objects due to use for detection of these objects reflections from underlying surface in field of radar shadow from object, formed as result of irradiation field diffraction on object with reduced value of effective radar cross-section.
