FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: thermoplastic composition comprises a renewable hard polyester and has a structure including pores and low density. To obtain such a structure, a renewable polyester is mixed with a polymer additive that increases the impact strength, as a resul a precursor material is obtained, wherein the additive that increases the impact strength, may be dispersed in the form of discrete physical domains in a continuous matrix of renewable polyester. Then, the precursor material is subjected to stretching or drawing at a temperature which is below the polyester glass transition temperature.
EFFECT: mesh structure is obtained of pores located near the discrete domains, which by their proximity may form bridges between the pore boundaries, acting as internal structural "hinges" that promote stabilization of the mesh structure and increase its ability to dissipate energy.
