FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the preparation of the sample for headspace analysis (HSA) of various medical plants (MP) in medicine, pharmacy, healthcare, food, cosmetic and other industries. The method for the preparation of samples of medical plants for headspace analysis is that a fixed amount of fined medical plants are placed in a sealed glass jar and held at a certain temperature. Then, the headspace is sampled with a glass syringe and dosed into the evaporator of the gas chromatograph with a flame ionization detector for analysis. Wherein, in order to avoid condensation of the components the glass syringe is held at the temperature of the sample which is determined with the help of the internal standard method by the initial pattern of constant values of the ratio of the analyte peak area to the peak area of the most volatile components of the standard sample dependent on temperature.

EFFECT: increased reliability of temperature determination for a sample of various medical plants for headspace analysis by the initial part of the constant values of this dependency, provision for avoiding the condensation of the components on the cold surface of the glass syringe.
