SUBSTANCE: method includes the following steps: determination of points in time by weight, to which the rate of corrosion on metal samples reaches a constant value, and the concentration of the volatile inhibitor becomes sufficient for their corrosion protection (protective); obtaining a distilled water absorbed during this time the volatile inhibitor in a confined space, the electrolyte solution; comparison of the polarization curves of the electrolyte with the polarization curves of the same electrolyte inserted therein a predetermined concentration of the volatile inhibitor.

EFFECT: rapid assessment of the protective nature of any concentration of volatile corrosion inhibitors in the moisture phase film on the metal.
