SUBSTANCE: system for production of block ice treated using nitrogen substitution includes a nitrogen gas feed unit for supplying nitrogen gas under a predetermined pressure; a unit for production cooled water with nitrogen dissolved therein to produce water with nitrogen dissolved therein, which is provided with a water receiving tank for ordinary water storage, a refrigerator for cooling water stored in water receiving tank and a nitrogen gas injector for injecting nitrogen gas supplied from nitrogen gas supply unit, and water stored in water receiving tank; and a unit for production of ordinary ice treated using nitrogen substitution, provided with a plurality of ice moulds immersed into a brine tank maintained at a temperature of water freezing, filling the device, for filling each ice mould with water with nitrogen dissolved therein fed from the unit of production of water with nitrogen dissolved therein, and a gas injector for injecting of nitrogen gas supplied from a nitrogen gas supply unit, into an unfrozen part of water with nitrogen dissolved therein. Method for production of block ice formed via nitrogen substitution includes the first step of production of cooled water with nitrogen dissolved therein, wherein ordinary water is cooled with simultanious gas nitrogen injecting into the water, the second step in which an ice mould maintained at the freezing point of water is filled with water with nitrogen dissolved therein and is frozen with simultanious gas nitrogen injecting into the unfrozen water part at least at some period of time which is part of period from start to finish of freezing.
EFFECT: obtaining of a transparent ice cubes.
