SUBSTANCE: receiving includes an application layer program implementing a local server (38) of data, which can be connected to and which can be interacted with, using a local port by other device components (30). The local data server (38) is configured for connection to an external source (32) of auxiliary positioning data to receive the said data in the first predetermined format, and to convert them into the second predetermined format to provide these data to the device (30) by means of the said local port. The device (30) also comprises a receiver (36) of satellite positioning and a receiver protocol module (34) connected with the said receiver (36) and configured so that in response to the request for provision of the auxiliary positioning data, the said receiver (36) establishes a connection with the local data server (38) using the said local port, requests the said auxiliary positioning data from the local data server (38), receives them in the second predetermined format and converts them into the third predetermined format suitable for the receiver (36) of satellite positioning.
