FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: estimation of the sheet metal non-flatness amplitude is made from the results of measuring the distances between the points of the two-dimensional diffraction pattern obtained on the surface of the controlled sheet metal from the diffraction grating together with the source of laser radiation perpendicular to the sheet metal, and comparing them with the distances between the same points of the diffraction pattern obtained on a flat horizontal surface.
EFFECT: providing an opportunity to assess the flatness of sheet metal on large surface areas, which allows to reduce the time of measurement of the entire strip surface.
