FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a housing in the form of a steel rod with a longitudinal groove for a cable, closed by a protective plate. In the upper part of the housing a catching neck is made for retaining the cable-cutter after completion of catching operations. In the lower part of the housing the groove is made for installing the cutting mechanism, consisting of the striker, the movable clamp and the stop. A knife of hard alloy is fixed on the striker. For straight-line movement in the cable-cutter housing, the striker and the clamp have guide grooves. The cutting mechanism is fixed on the rod by a threaded cap having a slot for putting on the cable.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality, in particular, implementing the possibility to cut the logging cable in the well with excessive pressure at the wellhead in the event of clamping a downhole tool or a cable.
