SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to investigate the causes of refractory constipation in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Initially, one session of biofeedback therapy (BFT) is performed with a therapeutic and diagnostic purpose, and if the external anal sphincter (EAS) dysfunction and satisfactory tolerability of the first session of the BFT are detected, then the treatment is started immediately in the form of another 5-7 sessions of the BFT. In the absence of a functional pathology according to the CFT data, the EAS is found to identify other causes of constipation by examining the transit time of the contents through the large intestine.
EFFECT: improved accuracy.
