FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: complete human antibody or antigen-binding fragment of a human antibody that specifically bind to at least one angiopoietin-like human protein 3 (hANGPTL3) and inhibit or disrupt at least one of its functions. A nucleic acid encoding the presented antibody, and an expression vector containing this acid are described. A host cell containing the described vector is presented. A pharmaceutical composition comprising one or more presented antibodies or fragments thereof is described. Also, methods of the presented antibody application are described. The invention can be used for treatment of diseases or disorders related to ANGPTL3, such as hyperlipidemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and dyslipidemia including hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipoproteinemia, etc. Further, anti-hANGPTL3 antibodies may be administered to a patient in need for prevention or treatment of diseases or disorders for which abnormal lipid metabolism is a risk factor. Such diseases or disorders include cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease; acute pancreatitis; non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH); diabetes; obesity and similar diseases.
