METHOD OF AMPLITUDE TWO-DIMENSIONAL DIRECTION-FINDING BEARING Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01S5/04

Abstract RU 2620130 C1

FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in ground and aircraft radio systems for all-sector determination of direction towards radio-frequency sources. Said result is achieved due to the fact, that the method of amplitude two-dimensional direction finding includes reception of emitted signal with the help of identical differently directed antennas, measurement of received signal amplitude, conversion of measurements in angular spectrum and determination of direction towards the radiator at its maximum, provided that signal is received by minimum five antennas with symmetrical beam patterns, orientation angles of focal axes of antennas are shifted relative to each other with uniform coverage of spherical view sector. Operations, following the measurement of amplitude values, are performed as two-dimensional, given that antenna beam patterns are determined as function of their main section from the angle between focal axes and two-dimensional bearing vector.

EFFECT: achieved technical result – provision of two-dimensional all-sector bearing simultaneously in two orthogonal planes by azimuth and elevation angle.
