FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: subdermal port system with intra-abdominal catheter is implamted under spinal anesthesia. A subdermal pocket is formed for the port chamber from a 3 cm cut in the left mesogastric region along the midclavicular line at omphalus level. Aponeurosis of rectus abdominis and peritoneum are dissected to embed the catheter in an abdominal cavity. The catheter is embedded in the abdominal cavity over 10-12 cm using a long surgical forceps and is placed freely in a small pelvis. Catheter entry area is sutured with purse-string suture and 2-3 single interrupted sutures on the front sheet of the rectus abdominis aponeurosis. The port chamber is sutured to the rectus aponeurosis with nonabsorbable suture material.
EFFECT: method of implanting a device for evacuation of ascitic fluid and intra-abdominal chemotherapy conduction enables to reduce tissue trauma and reduce the frequency of postoperative complications.
