SUBSTANCE: between the electrodes at a fixed distance between them is energized, a current melts and evaporates the fine wire which is located between the electrodes, the distance from the cathode to the anode is selected such that at which the discharge without wires spontaneously arises, and between the electrodes, the conditions for avalanche discharge gap that occurs in the presence of evaporating vapour in the air delays. At the same time when applying a voltage to the discharge, the gap is formed at the cathode channel created by the heat of the cumulative jet-melting metal, coming from a point of contact and the cathode wire.
EFFECT: ability to control the trajectory of the thermal cumulative jet-melting metal, and the trajectory of the channel formed by it on the surface of a metal cathode.
