SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of voltage to electrodes providing avalanche breakdown of discharge gap, occurring when vapours of evaporating wire are present in air to form heat cumulative jet, melting metal, on metal surface of cathode plate, placement of dielectric obstacle on the surface of cathode plate on path of cumulative jet and displacement of dielectric obstacle along this jet till required length of heat cumulative jet and length of drilled metal channel formed by it is obtained.
EFFECT: formation of heat cumulative metal melting jet, and formation of channel on metal surface of required length.
