ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOW METER FOR LARGE WATER PIPELINES Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01F1/58

Abstract RU 2620334 C1

FIELD: tool engineering.

SUBSTANCE: water pipeline is made of reinforced concrete. It has a channel of rectangular cross-section up to 20/6 m in size. The nominal water flow is about 500 m3/sec. The proposed electromagnetic flow meter has a rectangular channel, the dimensions of which are equal to the dimensions of the channel of the turbine water pipeline. There is a hole of rectangular cross section in the channel of the water pipeline. It is made along the entire perimeter of the rectangular channel of the water pipeline and has a depth of at least 100-200 mm. There is an inductor and electrodes inside it. In order not to create additional obstacles to the flow, the outer surface of the electroinsulating refractory is flush with the surface of the water pipeline channel. The fluid flow measuring unit is the sum of the differences of potentials of all the pairs of electrodes.

EFFECT: creation of a flow meter with increased measuring accuracy of a flow with a variable flow structure, ensuring high accuracy of measurement and independence of readings from the flow structure.
