SUBSTANCE: adapter is mounted on the distal tip of the drug delivery device, defines the axial channel of product feeding from the device. The longitudinal axis of the adapter is aligned along the axial channel. The adapter includes a connecting means connecting the adapter to the connector. The adapter includes an internal ring engaging with the said tip. The said ring comprises retaining means, providing a radially inward force to the said tip when the adapter is engaged with the tip. The retaining means are adapted to change the configuration from free to clamping, in which the radially inward force exerted on the said tip, limits its axial movement. The adapter includes compression means associated with the inner ring and capable of axial movement relative to the retaining means. The adapter includes releasable retaining means for temporary retaining of the compression means in its proximal position relative to the retaining means. The drug delivery device comprises a distal tip that defines the axial channel for feeding of the product contained in the device. The said device comprises an adapter according to any one of claims 1-6. The method for the said adapter installation to the distal tip of the said device consists of three stages. First, the adapter is taken, with compression means in proximal position relative to the retaining means. The said adapter is engaged with the distal tip through the inner ring until the adapter is properly positioned at the distal tip. The compression means is moved from its proximal position to its distal position with respect to the retaining means.

EFFECT: improved strength and reliability of adapter connection to the distal tip of the drug delivery device.
