FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method of determining coefficient of hard-to-separate bulk materials heterogeneous mixture includes counting a number of samples, a minimum weight of a sample, sampling a mixture and its components. Additionally, the method includes a sample distribution by uniform layer on a smooth surface and photographing, carrying-out of a mixed components pixel images analysis to obtain histograms of image pixels distribution over gray scale with respect to their total quantity. Then a threshold colour is determined corresponding to the midpoint abscissa between gravity centers of histogram of pixels distribution. Then a key component concentrations value in sample mixtures is determined as ratio of number of corresponding pixels to the total number of sample image pixels, and the heterogeneous mixture coefficient is calculated. In calculation of abscissas of pixels distribution histogram gravity centers areas, the area of not overlapped section and overlapped area are calculated first, then the area of overlapped area is divided into two parts, and each component is assigned with them in a ratio inversely proportional to the area of not overlapped sections.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of calculations and possibility to process any sample micture images, including close colour components, method of determining coefficient of hard-to-separate bulk material heterogeneous mixture has a simple linear algorithm and is considered a rapid method.
