FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining the coefficient of heterogeneity of a mixture consisting of colour-distinguishable loose materials. Proposed method comprises calculation of key component concentrations at different sections of mixer mixing chamber proceeding from colour segmentation in colour LAB space of mix images. Concentration of the key component in a certain section of the mixer is calculated as a fraction of all pixels of the information part of the image having a colour close in the Euclidean sense to the core of the colour cluster of the key component, and the core itself is defined as the average values of the LAB colour space channels "A" and "B" of all pixels within the binary mask restricting the region with the characteristic for the key component colour and constructed for the single template image, where "L" is the coordinate which determines the pixel brightness, "A" is colour space coordinate representing red-green component of pixel colour, "B" is the colour space coordinate, which is the yellow-cyan component of the pixel colour.

EFFECT: reduction of calculation time and reduction of errors in determination of mixture heterogeneity.
