SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of stereological analysis and relates to the method of assessing the state of the surface of particles on their planar image. Method includes lighting particles and recording their images. Particle image is converted into a two-color image mode, the reduced diameter of the particle is set and based on the image of the flat projection of the equivalent particle shape, the image of the flat projection of the equivalent particle shape is superimposed on the image of the actual particle projection, real projection regions extending beyond the plane of the equivalent shape of the particle, which are taken as surface texture elements (STE). STE is separated from the image and separately subjected to analysis to determine their size and the sphericity factor, their fractional and morphological composition in aggregate is evaluated, and their distribution relative to the Gauss curve is determined, the analysis results are presented in the form of a histogram, according to the shape of which the state of the particle surface is determined.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of analysis of particles of wide size range and enabling evaluation of particle topography.
