SUBSTANCE: method for determining the coefficient of inhomogeneity of a mixture of hard-to-separate bulk materials includes counting the number of samples, the minimum allowable sample weight, sampling the mixture and its components, distributing samples in a uniform layer on a smooth surface and photographing, performing pixel-by-pixel analysis of images of mixed components to obtain histograms of the distribution of image pixels in shades of grey in relation to their total number, determination of the threshold hue, determination of the concentration value of the key component in the mixture samples as the ratio of the number of pixels corresponding to it to the total number of sample image pixels and calculation of the mixture heterogeneity coefficient, according to the invention when calculating the threshold hue value of the image pixel distribution histogram approximated by grayscale by power functions, which are multiplied, plot the resulting function, then find the coordinate of the centre of gravity of the area under the graph and assign this value to the threshold shade, and when calculating the coefficient of heterogeneity of the mixture, the required concentration of the key component is taken into account.

EFFECT: creating a method for determining the coefficient of heterogeneity of the mixture, which has a high accuracy of its determination.
