FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in a method including ozonizing the air flow in the ozonizer (3), mixing the exhaust gases with the ozone-air mixture, cooling this mixture in the condenser cooler (8) to a temperature below the dew point with the condensation of most of the water vapour, then separating the mixture in a separator (9), removing the water and soot phases therefrom, and removing the cleaned exhaust gases into the atmosphere, according to the invention, water is sprayed into the exhaust gas mixture with the ozone-air mixture by means of injectors (4), and before cleaning, they are diluted with air into the atmosphere, passing through the ejector (11); the flow rate of the sprayed water is preferably adjusted depending on the change in load on the internal combustion engine by means of a load sensor (13) which, through the unit (12).
EFFECT: efficiency of purification and utilisation of exhaust gases is increased due to the reaction of non-catalytic oxidation of harmful substances in the exhaust gas stream at high temperature, and also by diluting purified gases before release by atmospheric air.
