FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing hollow tubular heaters from a composite material based on carbon, silicon and silicon carbide by impregnating a pre-formed carbon-graphite tube with molten silicon is proposed. The billet is moved in a vacuum medium relative to the capillary feeder, which continuously feeds the silicon melt to its outer surface. After completion of the silicification process, the obtained products after minor modification can be used as resistive heaters capable of operating at temperatures up to 1300°C in the air medium.
EFFECT: ensuring uniform impregnation of blanks with silicon and improving the technical and economic parameters of the pipe production process.
