FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking product containing a solid combustible heat source; the combustible heat source has the cross sectional area of at least 60 percent of the cross sectional area of the smoking product; the aerosol-forming substrate is downstream of the rear surface of the solid combustible heat source. The rear surface of the solid combustible heat source and the substrate face each other; and one or more air inlet openings are located downstream of the rear surface of a solid combustible heat source and upstream of the mouthpiece. One or more air inlet openings are disposed between the rear surface of the solid combustible heat source and the downstream end of the aerosol-forming substrate, and comprise one or more first air inlets around the substrate periphery. In operation the air drawn in through the substrate enters the smoking product through one or more air inlet openings.
EFFECT: elimination of substrate combustion or pyrolysis in intense smoking modes.
