SMOKING ARTICLE COMPRISING A COMBUSTIBLE HEAT SOURCE WITH AT LEAST ONE AIRFLOW CHANNEL Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A24F47/00

Abstract RU 2672007 C2

FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article. Smoking article contains a combustible heat source having opposite front and rear surfaces; one or more airflow channels extending from the front surface to the rear surface of the combustible heat source; an aerosol forming substrate located downstream of the rear surface of the combustible heat source; mouthpiece located downstream of the aerosol forming substrate; and one or more air inlets located downstream of the rear surface of the combustible heat source and upstream of the mouthpiece, said one or more air inlets are located between the rear surface of the combustible heat source and a downstream end of the aerosol forming substrate, and during use, air drawn through the aerosol forming substrate enters the smoking article through said one or more air flow channels and said one or more air inlets, and at least some of the air drawn through the aerosol forming substrate comes into direct contact with a combustible part of the combustible heat source, and when the user inhale, cold air drawn through said one or more air inlets between the rear surface of the combustible heat source and the downstream end of the aerosol forming substrate reduces the temperature of the aerosol forming substrate.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to prevent or reduce the probability of occurrence of peak temperatures of the aerosol forming substrate, when the user inhale, avoiding or reducing the burning or pyrolysis of the aerosol forming substrate under intensive puffing conditions, and minimizing or reducing the effect of the user smoking regime on the composition of the main spray jet.
