METHOD OF CRACKED CORE SALVAGE PERMEABILITY SURVEY Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N15/00

Abstract RU 2620872 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: extracted and dried core salvage with an isolated crack is saturated with distilled water or a model of injected water. The salvage is placed in a unit for core salvages penetration test. Effective stresses corresponding to reservoir conditions are created, and the permeability of the salvage is determined during filtration of distilled water or a model of injected water. During the process of water filtration, the salvage is subjected to a repeated exposure of increasing and decreasing effective stresses (minimum three cycles), and also holding at different values of the constant effective voltage (minimum three exposures). At the same time, the filtered water is sampled (at least three samples) and its chemical composition is determined. On the basis of the dynamic pattern of the core salvage permeability and the chemical composition of the filtered water, the dependence of the change in the permeability of the core salvage with the crack is determined under the combined influence of water filtration and constant effective stresses. On the basis of the dependence of the change in the crack width on the varying effective stresses, the value of the permeability change due to the core salvage elastic deformations is determined.

EFFECT: regularity determination of the change in the crack permeability component with the combined influence of filtering water and varying effective stresses.
