FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: reagent kit for Chlamydia trachomatis detection in a sample is proposed, comprising two oligonucleotide primers for polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and application of the said kit to detect Chlamydia trachomatis DNA in the sample. The proposed set includes the first oligonucleotide primer with SEQ ID NO:2 sequence and the second oligonucleotide primer with SEQ ID NO:3 sequence, and, if necessary, includes an oligonucleotide probe, a thermostable DNA polymerase, PCR buffer, deoxynucleoside triphosphates. The set can effectively detect clinically important strains/genotypes/serovars of urogenital Chlamydia trachomatis biovariant using a PCR single target with application of two oligonucleotide primers allowing to obtain an amplification product with a size included into the range of 70-110 base pairs, and providing amplification of a Chlamydia trachomatis DNA fragment lying within the Chlamydia trachomatis critical plasmid area with the SEQ ID NO:1 sequence. The group of inventions can be used for laboratory diagnosis of Chlamydia trachomatis.
