FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for processing waste scandium solutions of uranium production according to the invention, firstly the process of thorium fluoride fractional precipitation from the scandium re-extraction solution is carried out and then the scandium fluoride concentrate is processed with its subsequent treatment which allows to obtain a product - a pure non-radioactive scandium fluoride, suitable for direct production of an aluminium-scandium alloy combination or scandium oxide. In this case, by treatment with an alkaline agent, a scandium concentrate is isolated with a scandium content in terms of scandium fluoride oxide at the level of 85-95%, which makes it possible to obtain scandium oxide for a small number of operations with a purity 99.9÷99.99%.

EFFECT: simplification of technology for production of pure non-radioactive scandium fluoride and high purity scandium oxide.
