FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to the production of a scandium-containing concentrate. The method includes sulfuric acid treatment of scandium-containing mineral raw materials, separation of the unreacted residue, extraction of scandium compounds with organophosphorus extractants, re-extraction with a fluorine-containing solution, and precipitation of sparingly soluble scandium compounds. Stripping is carried out with an aqueous solution containing 10–15 wt.% ammonium bifluoride and 10–15 wt.% ammonium sulfate, at a ratio of stripping agent:organic phase 1:(1-5). Precipitation of scandium compounds is carried out with metallic magnesium or compounds containing magnesium, at a ratio of precipitant:re-extracting solution 1:(10-50), the resulting precipitate is filtered and dried at 110-130°C for 2-4 hours. Magnesium-containing compounds are selected from the range: magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium salts. Magnesium sulfate, chloride and magnesium nitrate are used as the magnesium salt.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of stripping and precipitation of scandium compounds from solutions is provided.
