FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method consists of reduction of styrene derivatives with molecular hydrogen in the presence of nickel nanoparticles upon heating. Nickel nanoparticles immobilized on an ion-exchange resin are used as the catalyst, the reactants are fed directly to the catalyst by two streams, the first of which is hydrogen supplied at a flow rate of 2400 l/(kgCat·h), the second - unsaturated bicyclic compound, supplied at a flow rate of 7.2 l/(kgCat·h), and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of 130°C.
EFFECT: simplification of the process of styrene derivatives reduction and the production of the desired products with a high yield in a shorter reaction time.
