FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of alkylation of cyclic amines with nitriles involving the reaction of a cyclic amine with a nitrile using molecular hydrogen as a reducing agent in the presence of nickel nanoparticles upon heating. As a catalyst, nickel nanoparticles immobilized on activated carbon are used, the reactants are fed directly to the catalyst by two streams, the first of which is hydrogen supplied at a flow rate of 6,000 liters/(kgCat⋅h), and the second - a mixture of nitrile and amine, taken in a molar ratio of 1:2, supplied at a rate of 3.6 liters/(kgCat⋅h), and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of 120-150°C.
EFFECT: simplification of the process of alkylating cyclic amines and increasing the yield of the target products.
