FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of hydrogenating alkylene aromatic compounds to obtain fully hydrogenated cyclic hydrocarbons. Described is a method for hydrogenating alkylene aromatic compounds, which involves continuous supply of a mixture of an alkylene aromatic compound and hydrogen while heating onto a catalyst which is nickel nanoparticles deposited on aluminium oxide. Nickel nanoparticles are applied by impregnating aluminium oxide while boiling until decolouration with a solution of nickel chloride hexahydrate and carbamide in 7 wt.% aqueous ammonia solution, adding boric acid and boiling for 2 hours with weight ratio of aluminium oxide : nickel chloride hexahydrate : carbamide : boric acid equal to 1:2:2.4:0.6, and subsequent reduction of adsorbed nickel chloride at temperature of 80-100 °C for 1 hour with mixture of 0.025 wt.% aqueous solution of sodium borohydride and hydrazine monohydrate, taken in molar ratio of 4:3, with catalyst drying in hydrogen flow at 350-400 °C immediately before the reaction. Hydrogenation process is carried out at a molar ratio of alkylene-aromatic compound : hydrogen = 1:(4.9-81.2), at temperature of 140-160 °C.
EFFECT: achieving 100% conversion of alkylene aromatic compounds at atmospheric pressure in a stream of hydrogen.
