FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: method for oil or oil product spills detection on a water body surface includes installation of a thermal imager on an unmanned aerial vehicle, which is suspended above the spill zone, the imager performs a survey in the form of a series of digital images transmitted through the transceiving device of an unmanned aerial vehicle in real time to the point of round-the-clock remote observation, where the parameters of the oil or oil products spill are estimated. Based on this information, forecast maps for oil or oil products spills distribution are constructed, which are transmitted as telemetric information to manned or unmanned boats that deploy booms in the contaminated area and perform subsequent collection of oil or oil products.
EFFECT: method allows to minimize the time interval from oil spill detection to its collection, to improve the accuracy of spill location, to reduce labor costs.
