FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: one or more individual comestible components for use in the beverage cartridge in the beverage preparation machine. The cartridge is made of substantially impermeable materials and comprises an inlet opening for introducing the aqueous medium into the cartridge, an outlet opening for dispensing the beverage prepared from the aqueous medium and one or more beverage ingredients comprising one or more individual comestible components and enclosed in the cartridge. One or more individual comestible components are coated with one or more water-insoluble coating layers made of alginate, and are essentially insoluble in an aqueous medium, and, during use, are dispensed from the beverage cartridge. One or more individual comestible components are stored in the liquid beverage composition inside the cartridge prior to use in a beverage dispensing machine.

EFFECT: obtaining beverages with additional taste properties.
