FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing smoking articles comprises forming the first segmented components, each containing a combustible heat source, an aerosol-forming substrate and a segment directing the air flow, by means of supplying the flow of the combustible heat source, the aerosol-forming substrate and the airflow-directing segments along a moving feed path; combining the combustible heat sources, the aerosol-forming substrates and the airflow-directing segments into groups, each group corresponding to an individual first multi-segment component; wrapping the combustible heat sources, the aerosol-forming substrates and the airflow-directing segments with a sheet of material; and cutting the sheet of material between the groups to separate the individual first multi-segment components from one another; feeding the flow of the first multi-segment components to the receiving means; feeding the flow of the second multisegmented components, each containing a mouthpiece and at least one additional segment, to the receiving means; and combining the first multisegmented component and the second multisegmented component by wrapping the first multisegmented component and the second multisegmented component with a sheet of material to form an individual smoking article comprising a combustible heat source on the first end and a mouthpiece at the second end.

EFFECT: providing a method suitable for the manufacturing of smoking articles having a combustible heat source and a plurality of other components, which reduces the risk of the heat source contact with the smoking article mouthpiece and is suitable for manufacturing a smoking articles having a combustible heat source and a plurality of other components with a relatively high rate compared with the known devices and production processes.
