FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: cereal piece includes the cereal base and from 20 to 45 wt % of a flax seed component comprising alpha-linolenic acid. Said flax seed component is present in an amount providing the alpha-linolenic acid content from 4 g to 8 g per 100 g of a cereal piece in terms of dry weight. The cereal product comprises cereal pieces and the other component additional to said pieces, wherein the cereal product has a total content of alpha-linolenic acid from 1.0 to 2.5 g per 100 g of the cereal product in terms of dry weight.
EFFECT: invention allows to preserve the quality of the cereal pieces and the cereal product during at least 9 months.
