FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: air filter cartridge for internal combustion engines comprises a housing in the form of a parallelepiped or a cube in which a facet located downstream and a cartridge facet positioned upstream are formed in the direction of the filtered air flow. The body comprises at least one pair of panels made of filter material forming a substantially V-shaped arrangement in which at least one air passage is formed between the panels of at least one pair of panels, in this air passage the filter material of at least one of the panels contains a corrugated sheet made of filter material. Next to the corrugated sheet on opposite surfaces, a sequence of corrugations and recesses is formed which are mutually parallel and parallel to the noted facet located downstream and the facet of the cartridge positioned in the upstream direction. At least two corrugations have mutually differing heights, the height of the corrugations in at least one portion of at least one of the panels progressively increases from the facet located downstream to the cartridge facet positioned in the upstream direction or vice versa. Panels form a facet located downstream and the panel facet positioned in the upstream direction in the direction of the filtered air flow. The noted rearward and frontward-facing facets of the panels are not parallel to each other. The air filter for internal combustion engines comprises a housing provided with an inlet for filtered air and an outlet for filtered air, and a filter cartridge. The method of manufacturing a filter cartridge for internal combustion engines comprises the steps of: providing a filter material sheet; corrugating the noted sheet to form a sequence of corrugations and recesses on its opposite surfaces, in which at least two corrugations have mutually different heights; closing the opposite ends of the recesses to obtain a panel of filter material; bonding the noted corrugated panel to the second panel to form a V-shaped configuration, or folding the panel to form a V-shaped configuration from the noted corrugated panel. The corrugating step of the filter material sheet is carried out in such a way that at least two corrugations with mutually different heights are formed.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of airflow cleaning while maintaining the external dimensions of the filter unchanged.
