FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: longitudinal arm (10) of the suspension comprises a mantle (20) for attaching the longitudinal arm of the suspension to the tubular beam. The mantle is provided with a tubular cross section that extends along the longitudinal axis (L) and includes an outer contour (24), an inner contour (22) and a compensating portion (40). The inner contour (22) is made with an internal diameter (Di). The compensating portion (40) extends substantially along the longitudinal axis (L) and is adapted to change the inner diameter (Di) by various adjustments. The compensating portion (40) is provided by means of an inside groove (42') located on the inner contour (22) and/or by an outer groove (42") located on the outer contour (24) to change the inner diameter (Di). The grooves (42', 42") substantially along the direction (U) along the circumference of the mantel (20) are characterized by the widths (Bi, Ba) of the grooves. The internal diameter (Di) can be changed by changing the widths (Bi, Ba) of the grooves.
EFFECT: providing a mantle for connecting the longitudinal arm of the suspension to a tubular beam that can be located without a gap at different diameters of the tubular beam and which minimizes the supply of heat from the shell to the tubular beam during welding.
