FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine is provided with at least one cylinder block head which is connected to the cylinder block at the mounting surface. The cylinder block comprises four cylinders (2a), (2b) arranged in a row along the longitudinal axis (10) of the cylinder block head. Each cylinder (2a), (2b) has at least one outlet port (3) for discharging exhaust gases from the cylinder (2a), (2b) through the exhaust system (1). Exhaust gases pipe (4) is attached at each outlet port (3). The cylinders' (2a), (2b) exhaust gases pipes are joined step-like in an integrated exhaust gases pipe (6). The exhaust system (1) opens onto the outer side (8) of the cylinder block head. There are two segments (9a) of the outer wall, each of the segments partially separates from each other at least one exhaust pipe (4) of the outer cylinder (2a) and at least one exhaust pipe (4) of the adjacent inner cylinder (2b). The segments (9a) protrude to the exhaust system (1), spread farther toward the outer side (8) of the cylinder block head perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (10) of the cylinder block head than the segment (9b) of the inner wall. The segment (9b) of the inner wall partly separates the exhaust pipes (4) of the two inner cylinders (2b) from each other. The segment (9b) of the inner wall protrudes to the exhaust system (1) so that the exhaust pipes (4) of the two innermost cylinders (2b) are joined in a partial exhaust pipe (5) before this partial exhaust pipe (5) and the exhaust pipes (4) of the two outermost cylinders (2a) are joined in the integrated exhaust pipe (6). Invention discloses the ICE actuation method.

EFFECT: elimination or diminution of the mutual influence of the cylinders during pressure charging change.
